Supporting Battlefield Preservation – On the Road in 2022

AS OF OCTOBER 2022, WE HAVE EXPLORED A CIVIL WAR story at 72 sites in Tennessee – from encampments, battles, infrastructure sites, to communities on the home front.  Our monthly e-history stories begin with your license plate photo and end with sharing a look at how at that site or in that community the War affected the lives of Tennesseans.  You can check out our stories at www.facebook.com/tcwpa. TCWPA’s ongoing campaign, “Driving for Preservation” still needs your help! The Civil War touched every county in Tennessee, and you can help us tell those stories. Send us a photo of your vehicle with the “Save Our Battlefields” license plate at a Civil War site in your county or nearby.  It does not have to be a well-known battlefield – perhaps it is a little-known site or one with a human-interest story such as Civil War soldiers enjoying a tri-state card game.  Please keep your camera handy as you “drive for preservation.” Send your photo to TCWPA at info@tcwpa.org.  We will do the rest!
