Rogersville to Greenville

On March 21, 1864 a detachment of the 13th Tennessee Cavalry (Union) attacked Confederate forces at Rogersville killing 23 and capturing 35 before the Confederates retreated toward Kingsport.  Following up on the enemy, the 10th Michigan Cavalry and 9th Tennessee Cavalry attacked their position on a ridge south of the Greenville road.  A running battle ensued until the Confederate force retreated to Kingsport.
